A few years ago, I dove into a personal research project to learn more about Japan. I studied the older culture, and their ideas on marriage. Their arranged marriages intrigued me, so I studied it further. I wrote a semi-short story about a woman named Rin, the young daughter of a
shonen (military strategist) who was arranged to marry a samurai
sounin (a high ranking general) named Akira. (BTW Akira is a unisex name, if anyone thinks its girly) He's a cold, dignified man who married her at the request of his
daimyo, (feudal lord who own large amounts of land). Rin's sweet personality eventually wins over the war hardened Akira, and their traditional arranged marriage soon turns into a true love marriage.
This is one of the only non-fantasy fiction story I've ever written, since not everyone enjoys my current fantasy works, I might clean up the rough writing if people find this kind of story more their type. Yes, no, maybe?
